Boston’s Seaport and Back Bay neighborhoods have welcomed recent openings of new restaurants offering a variety of exciting cuisines. These new restaurants continue to expand upon Boston’s vibrant culinary landscape. Just a short trip away from both the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center and the Hynes Convention Center, come explore and enjoy a range of cuisines from an elegant Italian dining experience, to cozy traditional izakaya, and more. Here are just a few of the latest and greatest openings that are sure to satisfy all cravings!
Yume Ga Arukara
0.3 miles from BCEC, 2.8 miles from Hynes
Yume Ga Arukara is Boston’s hit Udon noodle restaurant providing guests with savory authentic Japanese cuisine. Stemming from their beloved Cambridge location, Yume Ga Arukara opened their second location earlier this year in the Seaport District. With an expanded kitchen, new menu elements include tempura shrimp/vegetables and a select variety of wine, beer, and sake. The Classic Cold Niku Udon, topped with sweet and savory beef, is a must try and a recommended starting point for those who are unfamiliar with Yume Ga Arukara’s noodles.
Mr. H

With its recent opening in September 2024, Mr. H brings the Seaport a refined, elegant dining experience focusing on mainland China and Taiwan cuisines. Owned by COJE, the same group behind Boston’s favorites like Lolita and Yvonne’s, Mr. H is a must try. Their menu comprises “Cold Treasures, Night Market, Dumplings & Dim Sum, and Wok & BBQ” with items like scallion pancakes, dandan noodles, and Cantonese fried chicken—plenty of variety to satisfy all your cravings! Don’t forget to also check out their Shanghainese cocktail lounge.
Citrus & Salt
0.3 miles from BCEC, 2.5 miles from Hynes
Citrus & Salt, a Baja-inspired coastal Mexican spot, opened their doors with its vibrant floral design and impeccable cuisine. Initially located in the heart of Back Bay since 2017, Citrus & Salt relocated to the Seaport area and has been back in business since May 2024. C&S still has its familiar favorites like their freshly made guacamole and signature grilled street corn, but their new location and expansion makes room for an even larger menu. Check out their new addition of a raw bar that comes with fresh oysters, shrimp cocktails, and ceviche.
InterContinental Hotel Dining
1.3 miles from BCEC, 1.7 miles from Hynes
Whether you are staying at the InterContinental in Seaport or happen to be nearby, be sure to check out the three new hotel dining and bar attractions that opened in late spring of 2024. Matria is a northern Italian steakhouse that offers regional flavors of Italy with an exquisite waterfront view of Boston. If you want to immerse in Italian aperitivo culture, Bar Fellini specializes in Italian cocktails and a curated selection of meat and cheese boards. For a more revolutionary cocktail experience, Loyall Counting Room (coming soon) will be serving both drinks and stories of the colonial era.
La Padrona
0.5 miles from Hynes, 2.6 miles from BCEC
La Padrona opened in May 2024 and is Boston’s newest elevated Italian dining experience. Located inside the luxury Raffles Hotel, La Padrona serves traditional, but innovative Italian dishes with freshly sourced ingredients from New England. Inspired by regional specialties and a touch of Boston, their menu features a decadent variety from Seared Black Cod and Lobster & Uni Risotto to Brioche Gelato Sandwiches.
Sakabayashi Sushi Tavern
0.2 miles from Hynes, 3.1 miles from BCEC
Opened in April 2024, Sakabayashi Sushi Tavern is the place to go for an authentic izakaya from Japan. With their modern twist on traditional sushi platters and sake, Sakabayashi is the first U.S. location coming from this Japanese restaurant group with locations throughout Asia. Their menu has a wide selection of rice bowls, tempura, and sushi, including their Salmon-ade: a signature must-eat as it’s “soft enough to drink” and melts in your mouth.
Le Mari
0.2 miles from Hynes, 3.0 miles from BCEC
Newbury Street’s new Mediterranean inspired restaurant, Le Mari, opened back in July 2024 serving dishes with fresh and seasonal ingredients. There are plenty of menu items, ranging from crudo, small plates, land & sea plates, pasta, and more. Le Mari encourages dishes to be shared and enjoyed with others. They also feature a selection of wine and cocktails to be seamlessly paired with the dishes. Highlights of the menu includes Chicken Milanese, Cavatelli con Vongole, and Duck Confit.
