The Langham, Boston Reopens After a $200M Renovation

On June 30, The Langham, Boston unveiled a massive two-year renovation of all of its guestrooms and public spaces.

Dyer Brown, the architect on record collaborated with Richmond International, who executed the interior design. The concept reflects the history of The Langham, Boston as the former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and features numerous unique details reminiscent of the building’s history like banker’s lamps in the lobby, marble countertops inspired by those in the old bank and even the original bank chandeliers which were removed, cleaned and reinstalled.

“This renovation highlights the architectural grandeur of this iconic building and launches The Langham as a new American classic within the luxury hotel industry”, said Michele Grosso, Managing Director of Langham, Boston. “We are so excited to re-introduce Boston and the world beyond to The Langham.”

The Langham, Boston’s luxurious new lobby is decorated in jewel tones and features a beautiful fireplace, plenty of seating, and a modern concierge area and check-in desk.

Langham Boston also has a plethora of newly refurbished function spaces, perfect for off-site gatherings to complement your BCEC or Hynes event. The new Lincoln Ballroom can accommodate up to 200 guests and boasts a huge skylight right in the center of the room. Another iconic spot is the Wyeth Room featuring two impressive murals that were commissioned in 1923 by The Federal Reserve Bank building committee.

The hotel also introduced two new dining concepts:

  • GRANA, located in the former grand hall of The Federal Reserve Bank, which will serve an approachable and authentic family-style Italian cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch
  • The Fed, a charming new destination bar, located on the first floor with an outdoor terrace (coming soon), which serves craft cocktails and elevated pub fare

As part of the renovation, a new Club Lounge was added on the eighth floor offering a wide range of privileges including private check-in and check-out, food and beverage offerings throughout the day, private space to relax, work, and socialize, and more. Guests will be able to enjoy this elevated experience by upgrading to a room or suite with Club Lounge access (available in Fall 2021).

Additional guest amenities include a 24-hour fitness facility available to all guests, and at a later date, The Langham will reveal a brand new Health Club with an indoor pool, whirlpool and saunas.

Guests of the hotel can also partake in a daily complimentary Heritage Tour of the hotel, including an overview of the impressive new art collection and the building's heritage as the former Federal Reserve Bank of Boston in 1922.

The Langham, Boston offers convention attendees a luxury lodging experience in the heart of the city and is only 1 mile away from the BCEC and 2 miles away from the Hynes, and easily accessible via public transportation.
