Best Places for Networking at Night

After a long day of meetings, your attendees don’t have to look far to find a place to grab a drink and connect with colleagues. Bostonians love a good after-work drink, so of course our neighborhoods are filled with all types of options for the 21+ crowd. From laid back pubs to fancy cocktail bars, Boston has it all for your post-event pint. Here’s a selection of locations near our convention centers that have been named on lists of top bars in Boston… many of them also have unique spaces for private functions! Near the Hynes

  • Oak Long Bar + Kitchen (138 St. James Avenue): This bar in the Fairmont Copley Plaza has seen several name changes and renovations over the past century, and has one of the most iconic dining rooms in the city. It was voted “#1 Hotel Bar” by Boston Magazine in 2017.
  • Grill 23 & Bar (161 Berkeley Street): the upstairs bar at their steakhouse is a more upscale experience; featuring veteran white-jacketed bartenders, endless bowls of spiced potato chips, and pours from their world-class 2,100-bottle wine list.
  • Delux Café (100 Chandler Street): According to Boston Magazine, “sitting at the bar at Delux can feel like drinking in a faded snapshot of Christmas 1974”. This dive bar also offers a classic house combo – a Narragansett tallboy and a mystery shot for $8.
  • Bleacher Bar (82A Lansdowne Street): If you’re up for a little walk (or a quick Uber ride) and a true classic Boston experience, venture down to Fenway Park and check out Bleacher Bar. With a nondescript entrance on the side of the park that leads below the bleachers, this bar offers a close-up view of the field from a garage-door-esque retractable window. It’s open year-round, ball game or not!
  • Towne Stove & Spirits (900 Boylston Street): conveniently located adjacent to the Hynes, Towne’s Street Bar offers drinks and bar bites. From $1 Oyster Mondays to Taco Thursdays, it’s a great place to stop after a long day of meetings.

Near the BCEC

  • Drink (348 Congress Street): Created by award-winning Barbara Lynch, this sleek, culinary-minded cocktail bar in Fort Point goes by a no-menu approach. Simply tell the bartender what you like, and they’ll craft a cocktail with the very best artisanal ingredients.
  • Legal Harborside Roof Deck (270 Northern Avenue): When the weather is warm, venture to the third-floor of the popular Legal Harborside. Enjoy panoramic harbor views and, might we suggest, a pitcher of their seasonally spiked sangria.
  • Croke Park Whitey’s (268 W. Broadway): For those seeking a classic Southie experience, look no further. Play a round of darts, shoot pool, and order a round of cheap, non-fussy drinks.
  • LOOKOUT Rooftop Bar at the Envoy Hotel (70 Sleeper Street): With one of the best views of the city, this busy rooftop bar is open year round. Check out their heated igloos in the winter or enjoy fire pits and ceiling mounted heaters on cool evenings. This bar often has a long line, but hotel guests get immediate access!
  • Sky Lounge Rooftop + Terrace at Yotel (65 Seaport Boulevard): Located on the 12th floor, this rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the city and the river looking East. Enjoy great music that reflects the ambience of the space and the views, and switches up the vibe to a more party-like atmosphere as the night goes on.
  • The Social Register (401 D Street): Located right next to the BCEC and The Lawn On D, this newer upscale bar brings the elite and fashionable of Boston society to the Seaport neighborhood inside the Aloft Hotel.
  • The Lawn On D (420 D Street): Located adjacent to the BCEC, The Lawn On D is an innovative urban playground that encourages creativity and interaction. Open from May through October, enjoy a full bar while taking a swing on Swing Time or partaking in a game of bocce or cornhole.
