Comfort is essential to a successful meeting experience, and Boston's Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center (MCEC) offers a variety of features that help make your time as pleasant and productive as possible. Here is a look at creature comforts around the MCEC, including unique dining concepts, advanced technology, and services to enhance your attendees' event experience.
Many visitors enjoy using the accessible free Wi-Fi and the seating areas around the MCEC. The facility integrates the most advanced network services of any convention center in the world, using 514 access points and specially selected and tuned antennas to deliver building-wide, free Wi-Fi. The MCEC network can support up to 35,000 simultaneous device connections! Attendees can comfortably get work done with ample seating options throughout the MCEC's pre-function spaces.
Mamava nursing pods are freestanding, free to use private lactation stations for new mothers. Each pod is equipped with technology that allows users to securely lock the pod, along with seating areas throughout the pod that are easy to sanitize. The Mamava app is especially helpful to young mothers, as it can locate places where there are nursing pods and help them control the lights and the door lock of the pod.
As you move throughout your day at the MCEC, you can stay hydrated with refreshing, flavorful Drop Water water dispensers located on Level 1 of each escalator lobby. Each station (4 total in the building) offers a flavored still water option for just $0.21 per ounce, along with a flavored sparkling water option. Disposable water bottles are available for $3.00. Every MCEC meeting room is also equipped with complimentary water coolers.
Those needing business services can visit the full-service FedEx Office business center within MCEC. Customers can make copies, print from tablets or smartphones, purchase office supplies, ship packages, and create and print posters and banners. Save time by easily submitting orders online ahead of time! The FedEx Office is centrally located near the exhibit hall.
For grabbing quick cash, there are two ATMs in the MCEC, one in the North Lobby and another outside the Exhibit Hall on Level 0.
Levy Restaurants, the food and beverage provider for the MCEC, has introduced two unique dining concepts, providing guests with easy access to food and beverages throughout the day.
Unconventional Café offers coffee, pastries, and an all-day lunch menu including made-to-order sandwiches, salads, and soups. Additionally, the space offers countertop seating and online ordering.
Market on Summer is a frictionless market that utilizes cutting-edge Amazon Go technology, making it both cashless and cashier-less. Customers can choose snacks, beverages, and meal options including hot and cold pre-made salads and sandwiches. Upon entering, customers scan their credit card, and from there, cameras and scales track the items being purchased, allowing customers to ‘just walk out’ as their credit cards are accurately charged. On-site ambassadors are present to assist or answer any questions.
