We are pleased to share that a new full-service Omni hotel will be built across the street from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, as announced today by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts. The $550 million project is expected to be completed in early 2021.

The hotel will be among the largest in the city with 1,050+ rooms and suites, as well as 110,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 25,000-square-foot ballroom. The new Omni will assist current and future customers by adding highly desirable hotel rooms and meeting space directly across the street from the BCEC. It will also reduce transportation costs and increase flexibility and capacity for customers by improving the balance of hotel inventory for both the BCEC and Hynes Convention Center.

With this latest project, Omni continues to show its support for the convention industry as it adds to an already impressive portfolio of full service hotels in Atlanta, Dallas, Nashville, and other locations.

Project Facts:

  • 2 hotel towers will have 20 floors with 1,054 rooms: 746 standard sized rooms; 278 smaller “innovation” rooms; 30 suites
  • 2 acre parcel
  • 800,000 total sq feet
  • 120,000 sf of meeting and event space: 3 ballrooms
  • 40,000 sf of retail space
