The heart of the Seaport District just got a bit sweeter with the opening of the new Museum of Ice Cream!
Located in the thriving Seaport District, just steps from the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) opened its 5th US location and offers 14 Magical Playscapes alongside ample private event space, VIP table rentals, and museum buyouts to accommodate off-site functions. The MOIC covers 12,300 square feet of space across two floors of interactive exhibits, secret rooms, and their iconic Sprinkle Pool.
Your MOIC visit starts on the second floor in The Diner, an open area space that can seat 100 people and features a bar serving local ice cream, milkshakes, ice cream themed drinks, and beer and wine. The museum’s largest reception capacity is 400 people and comes with unlimited ice cream for all.
If you’re looking to make your next off-site function an ice cream party, the MOIC offers semi-private packages or full museum buyout options, each for parties of 15 or more people. Semi-private museum package options include:
With the museum buyout option, the MOIC will cater food and drinks while meeting full dietary and accessibility accommodations. Additional add-on options include:
During their tours, guests can learn about the rich history of ice cream, take a trip on the old school inspired airline, the Cream Liner, walk down the Hallway of Freezers with unique surprises behind each door, and be immersed in the cookie inspired Chipwich Library, exclusive to Boston.
Another experience unique to Boston is Fun Way Park, an open area where each wall is lined with games paying homage to Fenway Park, the Green Monster, and other baseball-oriented games. The iconic MOIC double-helix slide, a fixture included in every MOIC, leads to the sprinkle pool on the first floor.
Each MOIC features unique flavors specially made for each host city. Boston’s cherry on top for any visit or event is the special lobster ice cream served in a classic split-top bun.
This venue is perfectly situated along the pathway of the brand-new Summer Street Steps, which connect Congress Street and the Seaport district to Summer Street, where the BCEC resides. The steps escort pedestrians toward the waterfront and provide seating on various staircase landings.
Whether your event is big or small, every BCEC guest looking to enjoy the sweet side of Boston is invited to take the Summer Street Steps straight to the magical Museum of Ice Cream!
