Boston’s dining scene is smoking hot (pun intended). We boast everything from world-famous restaurants with celebrity chefs, to venues with dining right on the waterfront. Plus, within our diverse city you can find every type of cuisine imaginable to satiate your appetite, entertain guests, and celebrate any occasion.
Today, on Cinco de Mayo, locals and visitors alike have an assortment of festivities to choose from to celebrate the day, located right here in Boston proper. People flock to local dining establishments to enjoy their Mexican favorites: dishes such as guacamole, tacos, fajitas, and more – the spicier the better!
Cinco de Mayo, a holiday celebrated on the fifth of May, commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War from 1861-1867. Today, it has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage celebrated with parades, musical performances, and street festivals throughout Mexican and the United States (history.com).
